How Do I Get Started?

  • Simply click on the MY ACCOUNT tab in the upper left corner of our website. Enter your personal information and you are ready to go! You will receive a welcome email from us.
  • Go to SCHEDULE and find a class that works for you. Unsure of which class to start with? We cover that in the next section so keep reading. You can also read about our CYCLESTARS here. While each class is similar, our CycleStars brings their own special style and energy to their classes.
  • Most likely, unless you have been given a Gift Card or we are running a special, you will be prompted to BUY CREDITS. Here is where you can choose the Pricing Package that makes the most sense to you.

    We've simplified pricing and payments so you can rock your ride whenever you feel like it. That means no membership contracts. Instead we feature flexible “pay-per-class” packages. Buy one class or 100. The more you buy, the less it costs per class. Plus, packages of 20, 50 and 100 earn you VIP status, discounts on merchandise and apparel, and much more. Our online booking also gives you the ability to reserve a specific bike up to one week in advance.

    Don’t forget to consider your schedule when you buy a package as they do expire. Our Single Class and Intro 3 Class Pack expire in one month. Our 5 Class Pack expiresin three months. Our 10 and 20 Class Packs expire in six months and our 50 and 100 Class Packs expire in one year.

I am brand new to indoor cycling. Which class should I take?

We offer several FREE Intro to CycleBar sessions per week. You can sign up by finding one of these 30-minute intro sessions on our SCHEDULE. We will walk you through the basics, set you up on the bike, introduce you to your personal performance metrics CYCLESTATS and show you how to rock your ride in a full class.

Many first-timers jump right into a regular class. . This is totally fine! Most of our riders start out with our 3 for $29 intro package. Remember, whether you are a beginner, or an advanced cyclist, these workouts that can be modified to your own fitness level. A few things to remember when you come in for your first class:

  • Arrive 15 minutes early so we can check you in and get you your shoes, fit you to your bike, and show you how the CycleStat monitor works.
  • Drink plenty of water before, during and after your CycleBar ride. We want you to hydrate for pure intoxication and the best possible health. We provide energized water from a tap so you can bring your own bottle or buy one of our CycleBar bottles.
  • We suggest a light snack 30 minutes before you ride. No need to carbo load for a 30 or 50 minute ride but you do need to fuel up.
  • For your first ride, we suggest a tank or t-shirt and form-fitting shorts or pants. We have plenty of CycleBar apparel for you to try on too.


Do I need my own indoor cycling shoes?

No. Shoes are always free with your CycleBar ride. If you have your own, our bikes are compatible with SPD and LOGIK shoes. You will clip into the bike and be good to go. If you need help clipping in (it’s easy!) or with finding the exact right fit for your bike, we can help you with that.


Do I have to clip in?

No. If you prefer, you can wear sneakers and we will add a Toe Cage so you can ride without clipping in.


What else do I need to know about CycleBar classes?

We are so glad you asked! We do have a few CycleRules to help make your experience awesome. Here they are:

  • The CycleTheatre is a device-free zone. No texting, no social media, no calls. If you are on call (parents, doctors, super important people), leave your phone at the desk and we will come get you. We promise.
  • Chit chat before and after class. Give your full attention to your CycleStar and, more important, to your experience.
  • It’s gonna get hot in there so please please please make sure you and your gear are fresh and you have dialed down perfumes, powders and colognes. It’s hard to rock the ride when your neighbor’s odor is messing with your oxygen intake.
  • Your CycleBar time is both personal and communal. Please play well with others. And if you want to do your own thing on your ride, take a back bike so you don’t mess with your neighbors’ vibe.


What if I need to cancel a class?

That is totally cool. We just need you to do it 12 hours in advance of the class. That gives us plenty of time to allow other riders in. We do not want to charge you for classes you don’t attend AND you can cancel all on your own in your online account. If you have an emergency and can’t make it last minute, you will need to let the studio know directly by emailing hydepark@cyclebar.com.

What is the wait list?

If a class is full, you can add your name to the online wait list and you will receive an email if a space clears. Once you receive that email, you are automatically added to the class, there is no need to confirm. If the wait list is full, you can book another class or check back later.


How do I pick my own bike? Can I ride next to my friend?

Every time you register for class, you will select your own bike station. They bikes in our CycleTheatre are on a tiers, stadium style. Level One or Row One is not harder. The ride is the same. So pick a bike near the front, middle or back. It’s up to you! You can easily share your confirmation email with a friend so they can pick a bike next to you.


Can I share a package with my family?

Absolutely. Let us know that you want to share a package with your spouse and/or other family members and we will link your accounts so they draw from the same package.


Where do I park?

Easy breezy. We are in the Rookwood Commons so you have access to an entire parking lot! Not to mention that you can visit Whole Foods and other fine stores before or after class.


What happens in bad weather?

CycleBar rarely cancels classes but in severe cases, any cancellations are instantly noted in our online system. if you are not sure if a class is happening, visit the online schedule and check. If we haven’t cancelled the class and you are stuck in your driveway, email the studio at royaloak@cyclebar.com.


What about fitness benefits and calories burned?

We love this question.

Truth be told, there is no way to accurately measure the life-changing benefits of a CycleBar ride. Can you measure the exhilaration you feel when you see your favorite band live in concert? Or the satisfaction of accomplishing something you weren’t sure you could do?

We may not be able to measure the intensity of your joy at CycleBar but we can help you measure your performance. That’s why we created CycleStats. Once you enter your data into the CycleStats system, you can track your performance both on the bike and off. Your personal data will be stored in a private online file so you can see your stats at any time.

In special performance-focused classes like CycleBar Compete and CycleBar Endurance and at key energy boosting moments in our other CycleBar classes, you will be able to see your ride stats to see Performance Metrics including heart rate, calories, power, RPM and more.

CycleStats are a fun way to help you to achieve your personal best, ride after ride, without turning your workout into a stressfest.

You will be asked some basic information including height, weight and age. This will allow even more precision with the metrics and all are updatable. Whenever you visit CycleBar, your data and your bike will have a conversation and measure your performance for that ride. Even better, all of your data will be stored so you can watch your progress over time and drill down into the metrics to see your heart rate, calories burned, power, RPMS and more. Whether you check your data on the bike during your CycleBar ride or at any time online, it is easy to connect to CycleStats for even more inspiration to be your personal best.


What results should I expect?

Here is what the U.S. Department of Health says: “Regular physical activity substantially reduces the risk of coronary disease, stroke, colon cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure; helps to control weight, contributes to healthy bones, muscles and joints; and reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression.”

Need we go on?  Cycling is also “low-impact” without the joint stress that you get from “ground-pounding” sports and activities.  It is therefore "soft" on your knees, hips, back and other joints.

Calories burned?  This all depends on the individual and the amount of exertion used.  Advances cyclists working hard can burn from 400-800 calories in a 50 to 55 minute workout. When you get started, you might burn half as many calories but you are still making tremendous improvements to your overall health.
